Aspen Medical is fully committed to the management of its Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) corporate responsibilities at every level of the organisation. HSE management is a key component of the Aspen Medical Corporate Governance Framework, ensuring that we will provide safe workplaces and safe work practices for all employees, clients, contractors and visitors to our various work sites.

Aspen Medical's integrated Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (HSEMS) reflect the values and ethos of our organisation to maintain a healthy and safe workplace free of hazards and risks, and to protect our environment and promote sustainable business practices. Written OH&S and Environmental Policy Statements are reviewed annually by the Corporate HSE Committee for their appropriateness and legitimacy, and signed and dated by the Managing Director after every review.

They are communicated to staff working for or on behalf of Aspen Medical via the staff and contractor HSE induction and training program, and are displayed on all HSE notice boards. They can be provided to any interested parties via a request to the HSE Manager, Medical Director, or the General Manager.

Aspen Medical has successfully operated an Environmental Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 for the provision of the project management of health services. Aspen has been independently assessed and certified by BSI Management Systems as being compliant since 29 November 2011 and demonstrates Aspen’s commitment to operating in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Environment

Aspen Medical aims for all its business activities to be planned and conducted to minimise and where possible, avoid adverse effects on the natural environment and social surroundings for the benefit of the current and future communities.

Aspen continues to demonstrate its commitment to our environmental policy and meet our environmental and social responsibilities by:

  • Complying with local, state, federal and international environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice
  • Protecting the health and safety of our staff and surrounding communities and ecosystems
  • The efficient use of all natural resources
  • Ensuring we continually improve our environmental practices by keeping abreast of regulatory changes, technological innovations and best practices
  • Communicating openly and transparently with all stakeholders
